Chef-Owner Warren Almeda serves up American twists on classic Filipino dishes at this Koreatown joint. Guy just had to try the Sisig Hot Dog. As the name suggests, this dog is dressed up with sisig (a Filipino mixture of ground pork belly and pork snout, made in-house daily), in addition to garlic crema, pickled red onions, radishes, green onions, a fried egg and the Filipino citrus known as calamansi.
This trip, Guy Fieri's going international with flavors from Asia, Africa and India. In Los Angeles, a funky fast Filipino joint spicin' up house-made hot dogs and piling pork adobo onto grilled cheese. In San Francisco, a Triple-G competitor adding Ethiopian flair to chicken jambalaya and fresh catch. And in Minneapolis, a lights-out Indian joint killin' it with classics like tikka masala and naan.
On this trip down memory lane, Guy Fieri's wrapping 'em up and stacking 'em high. First up, a Filipino-fusion joint relocated to California's Inland Empire, but their lumpia and spicy pork fries are worth the commute. Then in Santa Monica, an oldie but goodie is still making out-of-bounds burgers, while a staple in Boulder, Colo., is celebrating a century with their college-town classics.
